It’s the end of August in Memphis and we’re all weary from the heat. This summer was the hottest one on record and with all of those crazy triple-digit temperatures, you may already be thinking about how you’re going to cope next year. Charles Long from Germantown Pool and Spa recently gave us some great advice about pool ownership and maintenance that may help you plan ahead, decide if you need a pool in your own backyard, or determine how to care for the one you already have.
I’m dying out here! How long does a typical pool install take? How far in advance should you schedule one for next summer?
A typical pool install takes 4 to 6 weeks. You typically have to schedule a pool install 12 months in advance. We do not install pools but recommend Jay West Pools for new construction. We handle all remodels. Pool remodels such as new plaster, new title or new coping can usually be scheduled 6 weeks out.
What does pool maintenance entail throughout the year?
Pool maintenance throughout the year requires keeping your chemicals in balance, keeping your pool clean, ensuring that all equipment and pool cleaners are functioning properly, and properly winterizing your pool if you choose to close your pool in the winter. We offer weekly pool cleanings, openings, closings, and general repair.
What special features/designs do you offer?
That would be dependent upon which pool builder is chosen. In most cases, if you want it they can make it happen.
